What to do this weekend - April 23, 2026
Also, an art auction to benefit Physicians For Palestine.
Hi,
Welcome back to This Week In Lincoln. I'm traveling tomorrow, so I won't be posting a film review this weekend. Also sad to be missing quite a few other things happening this weekend, including but certainly not limited to the opening day for the Sunday Farmers Market at College View!
Here's a few other things you should know:
- Nebraskans For Palestine is hosting an art auction later this year as a fundraiser Physicians For Palestine. They're asking for submissions from artists, with applications due on May 31. Notably, artwork doesn't have to be specifically focused on Palestine, and all mediums and styles will be considered. Find more details on their Instagram.
- This year is the 25th anniversary of One Book Lincoln, and the library is organizing a bingo reading challenge. Basically, it's an opportunity to read past One Book One Lincoln finalists and potentially win prizes. Find more details here.
- A reader sent me this recurring crafting opportunity that I wanted to highlight. "Crafting the Resistance" happens 9 to 11 am every Thursday at the The Hub Cafe. You can bring your personal crafting project or just come to get coffee and socialize.
Send me stuff I should know about! I will (probably) include it in next week's newsletter. You can submit events here. Or you can just reach out and say hi. My email is tynanstewart@proton.me
I'm also, regrettably, on Letterboxd, Instagram and Bluesky so follow me there or whatever.
~ Ty
Please consider signing up as a paid supporter of the newsletter if you aren't already. This is a completely DIY project and I don't take ads or sponsorships, so every subscription helps me devote a little more time to doing this each week!

One night he saves a beautiful young woman, Marthe, from plunging into the Seine in despair over her rejection by an avoidant lover (Maurice Monnoyer).
