What to do this weekend - October 23, 2025
Plus a shout-out to Pepe's Bistro.
Hi,
Welcome to This Week In Lincoln. I don't have a long preamble for you today, just a huge list of concerts, films, markets, public meetings and more. If you ever hear someone in your life complain that "Oh this town's boring, there's nothing to do here," tell them to shut the fuck up. Or you can just send them my newsletter, that's also fine. In fact you should send them my newsletter no matter what they tell you. Spread the gospel. Annoy all of your friends until they sign-up. Save me from having to annoy my friends by posting about it too much.
I also wanted to give a special shout-out to Pepe's Bistro and one of their upcoming community fundraisers. On November 2, Pepe will be raising support for Bodhi Imports, which recently had the front of their building smashed up by an out-of-control driver. Here are the details:
Sunday, November 2
Fundraiser: Help support Bodhi Imports
+ When: 11 am to 2:30 pm
+ Where: Pepe's Bistro, 1311 S 11th St. (Google Maps)
More info from Pepe's instagram: "Hello beautiful community. The time has come for us to come together and help out @bodhi.imports. Many of you have heard about a vehicle that came crashing through the Bodhi's storefront and caused a lot of damage. Thank goodness no one was hurt! Let's help offset some of their repair costs by giving them a boost. Pepe's will be having a burrito emergency fundraiser. Bodhi will receive 100% of proceeds. ... If you have extra veggies you want to donate so I can cook them up for burritos. Bring them by. If you have baked goods/art that you would like to donate for a silent auction bring it by. If you want to volunteer. Get a hold of me. Please share!"
When I first got to Lincoln, a friend called Pepe a local legend, and this kind of thing — Pepe calls them "burrito emergencies" — shows why. I encourage you to show up. I'll be there; I donated some original art for the silent auction so if for some reason you like the drawing featured below, you can buy the original:

Got an event you want to see featured in next week's event roundup? Submit it here. You can also send feedback, suggestions, compliments, criticism and ideas for things I should write about to tynanstewart@proton.me
Thanks for reading!
~ Ty
If you value this newsletter, why not pay to support it? It helps a lot. I'll always provide this weekly events calendar as a free resource, but every paid subscription means I'll have a bit more time and incentive to go out and cover things like last Saturday's protests against the Trump administration. You can can subscribe directly by clicking the button below, but I also have a Patreon and a tip jar if that's more your thing.
