What to do this weekend - March 26, 2026
Plus: A new (tool) library and upcoming get out the vote events.
Hi,
Welcome back to This Week In Lincoln. Or if you're a new subscriber, welcome for the first time.
Every Thursday, I curate a bunch of local events (music shows, art markets, community meetings, book clubs, etc.) that might be worth going to. I especially try to highlight stuff that's free or inexpensive, as well as events you might not otherwise find.
Scroll down to find stuff happening this weekend, next week and later this year. If you go to something and it's awesome, please let me know and I'll take credit! (If you go to something and it sucks, I guess you can still tell me but it's also not my fault.)
Here's a few other things to know:
- Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the public communication about Saturday's No Kings protest has been a bit confusing. (To be frank, I'm also skeptical that this route will have the same visibility or impact that protesting downtown would — but I'm willing to be proven wrong again!) I wasn't sure whether the organizers intended folks to march along the route or not. But the answer seems to be no. People are just supposed to line up along the trail and sidewalks. Here's the definitive guidance, as far as I can tell:

- The Near South Tool Library is now open! It's exactly what it sounds like, a library where you can borrow tools instead of books. Right now the hours are limited (Friday, 5:30 to 7 pm; Saturday, 11 am to 1 pm), but you can sign-up to volunteer if you're interested. It's located in the basement of First-Plymouth Church's Hope House. Find a full list of tools here.
- OutNebraska and Nebraska Table are organizing Get Out The Vote phone banking events in mid-April and early May. These are chances to reach out to your local community members, share voter education info, and encourage people to, well, get out and vote! No prior experience required, and all are welcome. Nebraska's primary elections will take place May 12. Find dates/times and sign-up for phone banking here.
- Justice in Action, the local grassroots organizing group, had an event (their Solutions Briefing Rally) originally planned for later this afternoon. But it's been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 31. That change is reflected in the calendar below. More details here.
Got an event you want to see featured in next week's event roundup? Submit it here. You can also send feedback, suggestions, compliments, criticism and ideas for things I should write about to tynanstewart@proton.me
Also, please share the newsletter with your friends! Word of mouth and your recommendation really helps this thing grow.
~ Ty

When hyper-dominant Ray takes on the inexperienced Colin as his submissive, the improbable duo become partners in a complex arrangement that forces both parties to test the boundaries of what may or may not be real love."
