Welcome back to This Week In Lincoln. This is my round-up of local events which goes out every Thursday. You can find the calendar below!
Here's some other things you should know about:
- The NWU Theatre, which apparently has a very large collection of props from its over 40 year history, is throwing a huge downsizing sale this weekend! The sale started this morning at 8 am and runs through 5 pm. It continues tomorrow (8 am to 5 pm) and on Saturday (8 am to 1 pm). All this is happening at the Elder Theatre Center on the Nebraska Wesleyan Campus. Based on the photos, it looks like they're selling books, magazines, electronics, kitchenware, furniture, and a whole lot more.
- Reminder: A large coalition of state and local organizations — including Taco Tuesday Familia, Indivisible Lincoln and others — are organizing a rally and vigil for folks detained in the McCook immigration detention center. It's scheduled for noon to 2 pm on Saturday, August 15. (The address is 1797-1805 US-83, McCook, NE 69001.) Find more details here and tell your friends.
