Welcome back to This Week In Lincoln. This is my regular Thursday round-up of local stuff to do. You can find the event calendar below. But first here's some other stuff to know:
- A large coalition of state and local organizations — including Taco Tuesday Familia, Indivisible Lincoln and others — are organizing a rally and vigil for folks detained in the McCook immigration detention center. It's scheduled for noon to 2 pm on Saturday, August 15. (The address is 1797-1805 US-83, McCook, NE 69001.) Find more details here and tell your friends.
- There's also a protest against ICE planned for 11 am this Saturday in Lincoln at the intersection of 33rd and O Street. You can find more details below.
- On a less serious note: A Novel Idea is having a big summer sale this weekend! Go find some used books.
