What to do this weekend - January 22, 2026
Here's an absolutely massive list of cool shit to do.
Hi,
Welcome to This Week In Lincoln.
This is a pretty massive issue of the newsletter. I've curated a ton of cool local concerts, markets, films, plays, book clubs and other events. If you feel like braving the bitter cold this weekend, you'll find something worth your time!
I've also got the calendar pretty well filled out through March, and there's even some stuff in April that caught my eye. So if you're the type of person who likes to plan stuff months in advance, I've got you covered.
A few things I wanted to highlight:
- We're about four weeks out from Lincoln Exposed, the massive showcase of local music talent that runs February 11 to 14. All-access passes are on sale now and the full schedule/lineup has been posted! Go find some new bands to listen to.
- The Great Plains Art Museum downtown opened three new exhibits on Tuesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Center for Great Plains Studies.
- The Sheldon Museum of art has a new exhibit opening on Friday titled "Hyphen American: Intersections of Identity" that looks pretty cool.
- A meeting of the Telecommunications / Cable Television Advisory Board originally scheduled for later this afternoon was pushed back to Thursday, February 26.
- The Nebraska Heritage Book Club scheduled for Friday has been cancelled. The next meeting of the book club will be Friday, February 27
- Oh and there's a Buc-ee’s coming to Nebraska. For better or worse. (Probably for worse.)
Got an event you want to see featured in next week's event roundup? Submit it here. You can also send feedback, suggestions, compliments, criticism and ideas for things I should write about to tynanstewart@proton.me
