What to do this weekend - February 19, 2026
It's your last chance to see this local exhibit!
UPDATE: As of Friday morning, several things listed in this post have been cancelled or rescheduled because of the snowy weather. So please double-check that any events you wanted to attend are actually still happening!
Hi,
Welcome back to This Week In Lincoln. Here's a few things to know:
- This week is your last chance to see the Wild Great Plains exhibit at the Great Plains Art Museum, which is open 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. The exhibit closes Saturday.
- Junk Drawer, a local community zine, put out a call for submissions for Issue #5. The theme is "Out of Order," and the zine is looking for writers, performers, painters, photographers, activists and more. The submission deadline is May 7.
- Subscribers to this newsletter are probably tired of hearing about Lincoln Exposed. Sorry! But I really want you to know that a bunch of interesting bands and artists who played in the festival have shows scheduled for late February and throughout March, including The Killigans, Estrogen Projection, Social Cinema, alls, KJ Teder, Joyrager, Corson Branch Buzzard Club and more. Find details in the events calendar below.
- Saturday's Heated Rivalry Night at the Bourbon that I included in past editions of the newsletter is now sold out! But if you wanted to go and didn't buy tickets, it looks like there's another scheduled for April 3.
Got an event you want to see featured in next week's event roundup? Submit it here. You can also send feedback, suggestions, compliments, criticism and ideas for things I should write about to tynanstewart@proton.me
~ Ty
If you appreciate what I'm doing here, please share the newsletter with your friends, and consider signing up for a paid subscription. It takes a lot of time each week to curate events that actually look interesting. Your support will help make that work sustainable — and also give me more time to expand my coverage local arts and culture!
