What to do this weekend - February 12, 2026
Plus: Local students continue their walkouts to protest ICE
Hi,
Welcome back to This Week In Lincoln. Don't forget that Lincoln Exposed is currently ongoing. Still plenty of time to catch some cool local bands over the next three days. I left it out of the event calendar because I already made a whole big deal about in the newsletter which you can read here:

The Daily Nebraskan is providing daily coverage. Go check that out.
Also here's a bunch of stuff that's happened since this time last week:
Lincoln high school and middle school students continue to hold walkouts to protest ICE. Our governor announced a plan to shove a Turning Point USA chapter into every Nebraska high school but offered few details about how exactly this would work. Victims of ICE's crackdown in Minnesota have been quietly transferred to Nebraska county jails and the McCook detention center, causing a "bureaucratic nightmare for their lawyers." The University of Nebraska system is creating a new AI Institute, a decision that follows a year of drastic budget cuts, slashed academic programs, and faculty layoffs. The Nebraska Legislature made changes to the voter-approved increase in the state's minimum wage, including a decrease for some teenage workers.

Got an event you want to see featured in next week's event roundup? Submit it here.
You can also send feedback, suggestions, compliments, criticism and ideas for things I should write about to tynanstewart@proton.me
